Busch Gardens Employment – Cook

Job Description:

As a Cook, you’ll prepare high quality food that meets SeaWorld standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute food preparation and cooking of raw vegetables, proteins, sauces and other which can include use of smokers, grills, wok stations, steam kettles and large bakery style mixing equipment
• Engage with ambassadors and guests alike with the highest levels of service excellence
• Ensure proper portion and recipe execution through use of established tools
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Assist guest with allergen requests as needed*Maintain product and supply stocks of assigned kitchen / food prep / work space locations which includes large walk in coolers and freezers
• Ensure highest standards of food quality and product presentation through menu adherence
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, sanitation and safety and assigned kitchen and food prep work areas

Job Requirements:

• At least two years of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary arts school
• Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment
• A diverse background of QSR, full service restaurant, high volume, multi-unit operations preferred
• Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)
• Basic knife skills

Qualification & Experience:

• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment
• Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to prepare special dietary meals
• In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus
• Valid state driver’s license preferred
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals as well as work in all weather conditions
• Scheduling flexibility
• Strong communication, interpersonal and guest service skills
