Job Description:

As an Associate Aviculturist you will maintain husbandry of birds, including preparing food and feeding. In this role you will Maintain safe and sanitary work areas and animal environments Maintain all equipment and area responsibilities on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional guest service
• Perform daily observation of animals and report any abnormalities to staff supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Act as an ambassador for the company at all times
• Maintain exceptional standards of safety and cleanliness

Job Requirements:

• Ability to swim and work in/around water
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
• Comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations and motion
• Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
• Comfortable with heights

Qualification & Experience:

• Ability to pass qualifying swim test and annual swim test competency exam
• Valid driver’s License
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• Ability to complete provided CPR training/certification
• 18 or more months of related bird keeping experience at a zoological institution
• At least 18 years of age
• Strong communication, math, guest service and multitasking skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
