Job Description:
A Specialist in the Managed Service IT Strategy team is responsible for down streaming the IT strategy for their specialist function into BT Global, defining the solutions that enable the BT Global managed service propositions. They drive adoption of improved and innovative technology to create a seamless experience for the BT Global service teams and customers. This covers a range of technology across the relevent service propositions in order to realise the service technology requirements and further optimise service by reducing the total cost of service technology over time.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive Adoption of Technology Initiatives or Innovation: Shape the digital technology approach for key managed service deliverables, support the MSP team in building the technology aspects of the business case, driving technology adoption and establishing the right digital and networks engagement to deliver best of breed IT solutions.
- Innovation: Analyse trends and market disruptions searching for emerging new technology horizons and keeping in step with how this will drive opportunity/changes for your functional area. Working with the managed service team to align new market opportunities in to service propositions for future business growth.
- Technology Thought Leadership: Draw on your breadth of technical knowledge and insight – current and emerging – to solve problems through the use of technology to downstream technology led ways of working.
- Improvement Proposition: Collaborate with the business Managed Service Propositions team to identify key opportunities to improve the ways of working through better use of technology by creating opportunities that can be included in their roadmap.
- Strategic Technology Roadmap: Translate the Managed service proposition requirements for your functional area into an IT strategy that is aligned with architecture and the high-level Global IT strategy. Balancing the long term strategy and target architecture with the short term Global needs. Documenting the detailed IT strategies and roadmaps covering the breadth of your functional area.
- Investment Prioritisation: Input into the annual plan and capex plan to drive the IT strategy into reality, working with the Digital Roadmap team to prioritise demand, and track the delivery of your roadmap to ensure the business objectives agreed are delivered.

- Experience of navigating large, complex, organisational structures and challenging the status quo.
