We are looking for a junior application developer to join a true agile Web Development team. This developer will work directly on applications hosted on our externally facing secure portal, which provides self-service capabilities to employees, employers and brokers. In this role, you will be able to build your technical and strategic skills as you work alongside lead developers, other agile team members, and internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops web-based applications using latest JavaScript and Java technologies for our retirement planning business.
  • Provides effort estimates.
  • Uses tools with expertise such as Git and Gitlab, XL Deploy, Artifactory, SonarQube, and VersionOne.
  • Participates in design and architecture reviews, gap analysis and assessment.
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of software solutions by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Partners with Performance Management to identify and triage negative impacts to the overall performance of the production environment.
  • Reviews code with lead developers.
  • Learns new technologies and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Challenges the norms by doing things in a different way and brings new perspectives to day to day activities.
  • Be a problem solver and says “yes, if” instead of “no, because.”

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in writing automated Unit Tests using Mockito, Junit, and Jasmine.
  • Experienced in using static security scan (e.g. Fortify), dependency-check (e.g. Sonar X-Ray).
  • Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer
  • Engineering

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experienced in mobile responsive web application development with HTML5/CSS3 and SAAS.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience developing web services using JAVA, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Java 8 including Streams and Lambda.
  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)_Minimum Required in
  • 1-2+ years’ experience developing UI using Angular 2+ or React.js.
