Job Description:

To lead and enable a people eco system around moments that matter – delivering value at every touchpoint by ensuring the implementation of the People Strategy for the respective function/business area. Act as “Strategic HR Partner” to the organization and our People.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and lead a winning culture in the LA location, creating the conditions for teams to perform at their best through strong collaboration with global and local teams.
  • Drive complex organizational design, change and transformation programmes, redesigning structures around strategic objectives.
  • Use data, analysis and dashboards to shape organizational strategy.
  • Drive and execute the People Strategy for the area of responsibility, focussing on any areas of strategic importance in the LA location.
  • Key contact for senior customers and business leaders.
  • Trusted advisor on people issues to Senior Leadership Team, coach and mentor Senior Leaders to be empowered around people, engagement and performance topics/decisions.
  • Site lead for the LA location. Ensure that the location is governed (implementation of governance, policies and procedures) represented (in case of visits) and lead (define local priorities for the location, MyArena, MDE cohorts, etc.).
  • Build a Talent pipeline with robust succession plans for Senior Leadership positions within the area of responsibility.
  • Identify and build skills and capabilities against strategic initiatives, lead strategic workforce planning process.
  • Manage consistent execution of core HR Processes in full compliance with adidas Group policy, legal and regulatory boundaries.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to evaluate organizations, identify themes and work with leaders in order to identify HR solutions which enable them to increase effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – includes understanding of cultural differences, nuances and working effectively across borders with the ability to connect with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills to assess data, facts, and figures used to develop strategies designed to improve the business and see hidden problems.
  • A team leader with excellent management skills.
  • Consulting Capabilities: Brokering solutions to meet business needs, ability to customise/sell HR solutions in creative ways. Trusted Advisor, impact & influence, facilitation and coaching, project delivery and leadership development
  • Business Capabilities: Commercial Awareness, business acumen, customer focus, aligning business & HR Strategy, knowledge of the value chain and key processes to use and impact on the people outcome and strategy
  • Articulate and clear in written and verbal communication. Engaging presentations to large groups and teams. Provides ideas and thought leadership on people topics. Confident, creative and collaborative and role models this within the team, coaching others across the team.
  • HR Capabilities: Employee relations, HR Subject Matter Expert, use of HR Metrics, change delivery, organizational design delivery, maintain external perspective, anticipating people trends, workforce planning
  • Innovative thinking
  • Strong customer orientation, coaching and mediation skills. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous experience of working with third party agencies and/or external vendors.
  • Available for some travel domestically and occasional travel internationally, as required.
  • Four-year college or university degree with emphasis in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Personnel Administration or other related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Previous experience of working in a startup organization or building new teams preferable.
  • Must be available for early morning calls and meetings with colleagues in Germany.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in a multinational company ideally with experience in HR Management, Rewards, Talent or business function.
  • Previous HR experience working in a fashion or design organisation desirable.
  • Strong employee relations and organizational development experience. Experience in handling complicated employee relations issues (including union drives/organizing attempts, discrimination claims, sexual harassment investigations).
  • International experience and mindset. Previous HR experience working in a large, corporate structure, matrixed company environment is desirable.
  • Proven strategic HR partner, who supported business partners and contributed to the further development of standard global HR tools and programs.
