Job Description: The Destination Manager will be a member of the Adventures by Disney & National Geographic Expedition Operations Land and Cruise team. You will manage all aspects of the program operations of an assigned portfolio of international and/or domestic travel products which may include Group Trips, Expedition and River Cruises, Private Adventures and Expeditions, and Custom Expeditions. You will work closely with internal partners as well as colleagues, On Trip Staff, vendors and suppliers to ensure excellent Guest satisfaction and smooth logistics. Job Responsibilities: Coach, counsel and develop On Trip Staff and Trip Managers on expectations, operating guidelines, work product, company standards and feedback. Responsible for the accurate completion, updating and communication of all appropriate documentation, including product builds, tour logistic notes, legal and financial paperwork, itinerary overviews, and training and operating procedures. Strive to improve itineraries by responding to Guest surveys and Guide trip reports. Accountable for itinerary-change management. Oversee all operational aspects of assigned itineraries, ensuring each departure meets or exceeds business standards. Oversee and review work of Trip Managers and On Trip Staff. Manage and nurture third-party supplier relationships. Communicate effectively and on a timely basis with global vendors via email and videoconferencing. Hold suppliers accountable for maintaining or exceeding quality standards. Negotiate and confirm annual program elements including company-favorable rates and costs as well as terms and conditions with suppliers. Contract with vendors on assigned itineraries on an annual basis; liaise with Legal and Risk Management to ensure contractual compliance. Update and maintain associated budgets, review and reconcile invoices, create new budgets as needed, and manage costs to maximize profitability for assigned itineraries. Monitor room counts, release dates, attrition clauses and deposit and payment dates for each departure. Work with various internal and external partners to onboard On Trip Staff. Job Requirements: Demonstrated experience with coordinating complex logistics as well as strong implementation skills. Successful candidates will be self-starters who are able to work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a variety of partners. Candidates should maintain an open and positive perspective that reflects confident professionalism and an unconditional dedication to providing consistently superior products and services. Three years of relevant experience. Qualification & Experience: The ability to anticipate and recognize problems, identify their causes and find creative solutions to challenging situations. Strong administrative and organizational skills, Excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates should have the ability to clearly and effectively correspond with global suppliers, whose first language may not be English. Foreign language skills are a plus. Demonstrated negotiating skills. Knowledge of the travel and hospitality industry. Proven planning and project management skills. The ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects, meet deadlines and produce deliverables in a timely manner is essential. The ability to create and maintain budgets; comfort working in Excel. International and domestic destination knowledge and travel experience. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
