In this role you would be a vital team member in a JPL engineering group. You will partner with lead engineers to work on projects like JPL’s spacecrafts, science instruments, mission control systems, and science analysis pipelines. Job Responsibilities: JPL’s Flight Communications Systems Section is looking for an Engineering Undergraduate Student IV to join their Spacecraft Antennas Group. As a member of this Group, you will support senior engineers responsible for development of spacecraft antennas for telecommunications and remote-sensing instruments. You will have an opportunity to be involved in all phases of product development from research and technology advancement through build and test. Using commercial software tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Studio Suite, and Ticra Tools GRASP and CHAMP 3D to design antennas and analyze installed antenna performance Working on a multi-disciplinary team to create antenna flight designs that meet RF, mechanical, and thermal requirements Building and testing antennas Job Requirements: Ability to solve mechanical design problems, perform trade studies, develop design requirements, perform piece part design, and coordinate fabrication, assembly, and qualification of hardware. Experience with computer aided design and drafting, and spacecraft flight hardware development and test. Working knowledge of SolidWorks. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Good verbal and written communications skills with ability to work in a team environment.
