Job Description: Performs a safety & mechanical check of the equipment. Obtain appropriate paperwork. Drive to the assigned dock door, and open the door in a safe manner which includes securing the trailer, etc. Remove material or freight from trailers. Inspect material and account for all damage, using appropriate scanners, or other equipment. Ensure the freight conforms to the specifications in the documents provided. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. May require knowledge of computer systems to perform clerical functions. Job Responsibilities: Use two-way radio or mobile phone Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates Handling and Moving Objects Use scanning or other computerized equipment Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment Clean rooms or work areas Maintain safe work environment Measure, weigh, or count products or materials Job Requirements: Requires standing Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls Requires repeating the same physical activities or mental activities over and over Requires walking, bending or twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions Moderate noise, conditions could include odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Requires being exact or highly accurate Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or cold (below 50 F degrees) temperatures Qualification & Experience: Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
