Job Description: The Georgia-Pacific Fort Smith, AR Dixie facility is seeking to hire a Safety Manager. The Safety Manager provides safety leadership and direction within the facility through the application of Market Based Management (MBM®). They will ensure systems effectively address facility’s safety risk profile, develop and align facility safety strategy according to the facility safety plan/Risk Management System (RMS) and integrate safety into all aspects of the organization and facilitate safety and health ownership by line employees. Job Responsibilities: Ensuring the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems to meet facility needs utilizing qualified instructors Ensuring there is a system in place for a facility to sustain and improve performance Utilizing development plans to grow safety and health skills and knowledge. Communicating effectively Facility Safety and Health vision and performance to internal and external stakeholders Leading the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards Assisting facility leadership with the development of short and long-term safety and health objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks Leading facility toward Health and Safety Excellence using MBM® and safety systems Providing leadership and direction to achieve safety and health vision through management commitment and employee ownership Facilitating safety and health ownership by all and through execution and integration of the safety and health Management System Job Requirements: Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification Previous leadership role and/or supervisory experience Experience in heavy manufacturing Management/development of safety programs such as Lock Tag Verify, Contractor Safety Management, etc. Management/development of GP internal programs (RMS, HIRA, Gamechangers) Qualification & Experience: Five (5) or more years of safety and health experience in industrial or manufacturing Bachelor’s degree or higher Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety & Health Human and Organizational Performance experience Job Details: Company: Georgia Pacific Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Fort Smith, AR, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careersvite.com
