Job Responsibilities: Ability to frequently climb or use authorized equipment to reach various heights and breadths Clearly understand the importance of company safe work practices and safety rules Ability to sit for 2-3 hours; may be driving a truck or sitting on a transmission class equipment Basic understanding of the isolation of line equipment and grounding practices Ability to distinguish colors Basic understanding of the Human Performance Tools and requirements Basic understanding of electrical drawings (line equipment schematics and power system drawings) Ability to move frequently to unload equipment and to install/maintain/repair equipment Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills Exposure to Transmission and Distribution system switching activities Ability to frequently and repetitively bend/stoop/squat Demonstrates good verbal and written communications skills Demonstrate the basic ability to operate bucket, digger derrick truck and other areal devices Develops the ability to think methodically and arrange activities in logical order Job Requirements: Basic written and oral communication skills Demonstrated availability for after- hour’s work Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance Demonstrated ability to pass panel review by meeting or exceeding requirements for step progression Ability to pass any required back ground check for NERC/CIP/Nuclear compliance Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs Must pass appropriate level of Duke aptitude test Must be capable of working on elevated work surfaces Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally Develops positive working relationships and effective oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a diverse environment with individuals from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds Qualification & Experience: Minimum 3 years of Transmission or Distribution substation maintenance or construction experience or equivalent job-related and educational experience Must have a valid State Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a CDL Class A Driver’s License Must have a valid State Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a CDL Class A Driver’s License High School diploma or equivalent High School diploma or equivalent Job Details: Company: Duke Energy Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Charlotte, NC, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careersvite.com
