Job Description: To work as part of the Financial Accounting Team to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management and financial accounts on a timely and accurate basis in compliance with relevant legal, accounting and tax regulations. Works closely with the local, EMEA & US accounting/finance teams, as well as key stakeholders in varying Starbucks business units. Job Responsibilities: Produce balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts Provides documents and analysis to support internal and external audits. Produces monthly and quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis and commentary with related supporting schedules. Collaborates cross functionally with the relevant stakeholders to identify accounting impacts of operational initiatives, unusual transactions, new agreements & projects Develops and maintains various accounting systems and processes necessary to produce monthly management accounts in accordance with US GAAP for assigned P&L and Balance Sheet responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Recommends and implements ideas and innovations to improve upon existing processes Leading various accounting areas, providing key insightful analysis as part of business partnering with the wider business and budget holders, whilst also maintaining control around reporting Sets up and maintains accounting controls to ensure compliance with Starbucks internal controls and applicable accounting regulations. Journal posting May produce required statutory accounts and supporting schedules as assigned. Ideally require knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. Creates and maintains appropriate process documentation for areas of responsibility. Job Requirements: Ability to collaborate cross functionally, and to explain complex accounting matters to non-accountants. Ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Strong systems skills in all MS Office applications, with advanced Excel required Qualification & Experience: Knowledge of SOX and internal controls Experience in preparing UK statutory accounts Knowledge of US and UK GAAP, and IFRS accounting standards ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified. Accounting experience in a large, multi- site operation, preparing financial statements with relevant entries and supporting schedules Experience working with large ERP accounting and reporting system; Oracle and HFM preferred.
