Job Description: The Manager, Retirement Plans is responsible for leading the strategic design, delivery system and compliance of the defined benefit, defined contribution and executive benefit plans. He/she leads a team in the area of design strategy, using market trends, business needs, priorities, affordability and co-worker attraction and retention as key anchors. As a member of the HR leadership team, this role also contributes to the development of the total rewards philosophy, strategy, and operating plan. Job Responsibilities: Lead the strategic direction for the design of Ameren's retirement plans, including 401(k), defined benefit and non-qualified retirement arrangements. Lead in monitoring trends, benchmarking, business needs, co-worker feedback and other priorities with the purpose of ensuring strategic retirement benefit designs and/or vendor service changes to senior management. Direct and oversee the design, development, and coordination of benefits-related marketing and communications efforts. Lead data analytics for retirement benefits, providing a meaningful dashboard which clearly articulates benefit value and cost for leaders and co-workers, and measure retirement plan strategic impact. Partner with benefits consultants on plan design, vendor selection and vendor management of third-party benefit administrators; lead implementation and ongoing efforts with selected vendor partners. Communicate complex concepts and information to leaders and co-workers, verbally and in written communications. Job Requirements: Partners closely with the Benefit Operations team, as well as other areas of HR, Finance, Legal, Labor and IT to provide benefits expertise and partnering on benefit changes. Lead retirement discussions in key governance formats, including internal leadership, the Administrative Committee and the Investment Committee. Lead retirement plan compliance on behalf of Ameren, including SOX, government reporting, IRS, DOL, ERISA and audit requirements. Determine annual priorities, plans, and associated budget for retirement benefits. Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert regarding retirement plan design and compliance. Ensure systems are operating effectively and data transmissions to and from external vendors are accurate and timely. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Degree majoring in Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science or related discipline preferred. Eight or more years of progressively complex experience working within defined benefit, defined contribution, executive benefit design and/or administration required. Proven track record of advanced competency level in a Benefits role, with complex project management and vendor management experience. Requires the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Superior analytical skills; strong working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems. Three or more year(s) of supervisory and/or project leadership experience with increasing-complexity required.
