Job Description: The Engineer performs engineering studies, design, and project management activities for new and existing power generation plant systems. This position is based at the Ameren Development and Resource Center (DRC) facility located at Highway 55 and Lindbergh. The position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear plants with travel required. Job Responsibilities: Manage and/or support projects involving electrical equipment and related systems. Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary designs associated with initial development and budgeting of projects. Upon project authorization, perform detailed design and work with drafting to complete drawings, prepare requisitions and specifications for equipment and construction contracts, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist or lead in the planning and coordination of projects. Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment. Job Requirements: Provide engineering assistance to power plants and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with electrical systems. Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. PE License preferred. PMP certificate also preferred. One or more years of relevant engineering experience preferred. Experience managing, supervising, or leading people preferred. Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, MCCs, motors, transformers, buses, etc., preferred. Experience with protective relaying preferred. Experience with arc flash analysis and electrical modeling preferred.
