Job Description: As a Sergeant, you will lead the Security Team through daily operation of the Park on both Operating and Non-Operating hours to ensure a safe atmosphere for our employees and guests. This position will balance Security/Law Enforcement practices with that of Safety including Medical Response procedures, Fire Prevention, and Incident Management. Job Responsibilities: Direct personnel involved in establishing and maintaining park security and property protection programs. Confer with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of park activities with law enforcement agencies. Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. Establish operational procedures for activities such as guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts. Directly supervise more than 36 security officers during an assigned shift in the Security Department. Confer with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with park activities. Track worked hours and reports labor expenses to Director of Security, and oversees area budget. Job Requirements: Have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Out of state residents, students, active military and their dependents must have a valid driver’s license and provide a copy of the DMV report from their state of residency. At least 18 years of age. C.P.R., First Aid, and Guard Card certifications. Qualification & Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Strong written/verbal communication skills. Able to obtain a Firearms permit. Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with/without accommodations.
