Job Description: The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Education Department seeks skilled actors to participate in our seasonal programming. Looking for actors who are comfortable singing and actors who are comfortable using puppets or willing to learn. Bilingual actors are strongly encouraged to apply. Job Responsibilities: Perform 5 to 6 short shows a day for zoo visitors at 3 different stage locations. Keeping up opening day energy throughout the summer. Set up the backdrop and microphones each day. Participate in the upkeep of a fun and lively learning environment Remind visitors to keep on their masks and keep social distance. Provide feedback to improve the programming Break down the backdrop Provide a friendly face in the park for visitors between performances. Learn 3 different short shows in a quick rehearsal time period. Job Requirements: You have enthusiastic presentation skills You are reliable, flexible and accountable Be comfortable working outside in different weather conditions. You have excellent customer service skills, and are friendly and outgoing You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team Qualification & Experience: Or Graduates from improvisational training (like USB or The Pit) or actors with 4 years’ experience are also encouraged to apply. Some holiday work required. Interested candidates should at minimum be working towards their bachelors or part of an acting conservatory program and should have a strong interest and/or background theater, and/or education. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with children in an informal outdoor setting.
