Job Description: Kings Dominion is hiring a Full-Time Carpentry Supervisor to assist in overseeing all carpentry functions. This supervisory position is responsible for performing carpentry duties necessary to construct/maintain building woodwork and equipment. Job Responsibilities: Oversees and participates in the construction, repair, restoration and installation of structural and ornamental woodwork and related materials. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget and assist with preparation of annual labor and P&L budgets. Oversees and participates in the installation, maintenance and repair of structural and ornamental woodwork parkwide. Assists the Facilities General Foreman with scheduling and managing carpentry jobs, assigning personnel and ensuring availability of necessary parts and supplies. Troubleshoots problems with structures and related equipment and makes recommendations for repair and replacement. Executes the duties of the Carpenter position Monitors acquisition and use of materials Conducts performance appraisals on an annual basis with each direct report. Manages direct reports’ performance issues, addresses disciplinary situations, and provides input into selection, promotion, demotion, and termination decisions. Job Requirements: Basic analytical skills necessary to organize work load to establish priorities. in resolving problems. Communicates with individuals both inside and outside the company. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate not only with senior management but also with seasonal employees Must be at least 18 years of age. Qualification & Experience: Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. Working knowledge of applicable building codes. Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
