Job Description: Responsible for constructing, installing, rebuilding, maintenance, inspecting and repairing the wooden rollercoaster structures and running tracks, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times according to Carowinds standards. Job Responsibilities: Inspect and evaluates rides for proper function, maintain daily lubrication schedules, detects and investigates any malfunctions or irregularities and notifies supervisor of any safety concerns. Interprets and understand blue prints, material-take off and budget take offs. Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of park rides, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times. Responsible for completing required documentation on check-outs, preventive maintenance, updates/changes, etc. Constructs, installs (placement, position, measure, cut, construct, inspect), replaces, repairs and maintains wooden ride components for proper operation according to Carowinds standards. Assists emergency personnel in emergency evacuation procedures, providing training to the staff, ride operators and technicians. Receives and reviews various records and reports including NDT, ride manuals and updates, new ride blueprints, operating schedules, check-out sheets, work orders, vehicle maintenance check sheets, operational downtime sheets, material safety data sheets, oil analysis, etc. Job Requirements: Driver’s license required. At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 3-4 years related experience as a carpenter in construction or technical school equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Themed amusement park experience is a plus. Qualification & Experience: Ability to work with tools, machinery, and heavy equipment, which may include forklift, genie lift, boom truck, lathe, milling machine, etc. Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law. Ability to climb and work at heights up to 300 feet. Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. Must be able to read blue prints and layouts, material take offs and to complete take offs for supplies. Required to wear personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, fall protection equipment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime.
