Job Description: Work within the Scheels Woodshop Team to design and build fixtures for new and existing Scheels locations Prepare materials for finishing, apply stain and lacquer finishes on casework, cabinets and other fixtures to Scheels standards Work with the Woodshop team to complete projects to Scheels Woodshop Standards Load and unload trucks Job Responsibilities: Use of both hands to complete woodworking and maintenance projects; Finish all fixtures and cabinets through proper and safe means Perform general building maintenance for the Corporate Office building as needed to support the maintenance team Assist with installation of fixtures and cabinets in Scheels locations Construct corian countertops up to Scheels standards, training will be provided Prior spray finish experience required Identify and recognize unsafe working conditions or work practices Pack and ready fixtures and cabinets for shipping Prior woodworking and finish carpentry experience helpful but not required Travel to Scheels locations for installations Set up, operate, and tend woodworking machinery such as drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, and air-powered tools Build fixtures and cabinets that are customized for particular spaces including accents and trim on time and under budget Job Requirements: Effective verbal and written communication skills Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Basic knowledge of building systems, including but not limited to, lighting, plumbing and HVAC Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Qualification & Experience: Three to Five years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
