Job Description: Assists Pharmacist in filling and dispensing prescriptions for members. Assists members at counter, retrieves prescriptions, rings up members. Orders and stocks drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise. Updates patient records and inventory, process invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system. Job Responsibilities: Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to extent allowable by state law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy window, directing members to product location. Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct pharmacist supervison. Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by state law. Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards. Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler. Follows security and safety procedures, including securing department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste. Assists customer at counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieves filled prescriptions. Rings up orders. Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges. Orders, receives, tags, and stocks OTC, product in accordance with merchandising plan for department. Creates product signs. Job Requirements: Strong sense of urgency, positive demeanor, excellent customer service skills Flexibility Ability to stock OTC department, up to 50lb of merchandise if need be. State, National, or NACDS technical training and Pharmacy technician license as required by state.
